Buenos Aires was selected as the best city in Latin America
The prestigious magazine "Travel + Leisure" selected Buenos Aires for its wide cultural activity, assorted gastronomy and price/quality ratio.
Buenos Aires was chosen by "Travel + Leisure" magazine as the best city to visit in Latin America and one of the best two cities to visit worldwide.
Several aspects were considered in the election: tourist attractions, cultural activities, gastronomy, commerce, price/quality ratio and the profile of its inhabitants.
Secretary of Tourism Enrique Meyer was in charge of receiving the honors in New York, awarded by Travel + Leisure, the most important travel magazine worldwide.
During the celebration, Meyer emphasized the sustained growth of foreign tourism in Argentina and specified that "during May, 177.666 arrivals were registered at Ezeiza International Airport, which represents an increase of 10% compared to the same month last year".
The ranking published by Travel + Leisure is based on the opinions from its experienced readers with regards hotels, accommodation, cruises, international and coastal air lines, car rental companies, tourism operators, spas and islands.
"Buenos Aires attracts visitors for its tango rhythms, its famous and sophisticated coffee life, the best meat in the world and the good rates", reviewed the magazine.
